How do I care for my photograph?
I frame and mount my photographs with Australian made products designed to maximize the display life of your photographs whilst displaying them beautifully as possible. All mounting methods and material used by Len are archival quality.
For maximum display life, hang your photographs away from direct sunlight, and preferably in areas that are illuminated with incandescent tungsten, glass filtered quartz halogen or glass-filtered florescent lights. Image fading is primarily caused by visible light.
When taking an unframed photograph to your local framer ask for museum quality archival materials and methods to be used. You may consider having your photograph dry mounted as this displays the photograph to maximize its presentation, and will only minimally affect its archival permanence. Museums and buyers prefer to purchase photographs that have not been dry mounted, so this is not a good idea if you have purchased your photograph as a pure investment.
For maximum archival permanence store your photograph in museum conditions. This means storage in an environment where there is no light, controlled humidity and temperature and is pH neutral.
